„I love nature“

I am a self-taught landscape photographer based in southwestern Germany, with a passion for capturing the beauty of nature. While landscapes are my primary focus, I enjoy exploring various forms of photography that allow me to express my creativity. All this started in 2006 when on a whim I bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D40. I knew nothing about photography until I took an elective photography 101 class while getting my BA in English Lit. This electives class was a game changer, thus my passion for landscape photography was born.  

I realized very quickly that sunrise was my favorite time to shoot, especially a sunrise with fog. I find this time extremely peaceful. However, during the summer months this time proves to be more challenging. Having to wake up at 4 a.m. if shooting locally and even earlier if I intend to travel further, is not an easy task, but well worth it.

I don’t shy away from visiting the same locations repeatedly because I will always get different pictures, especially throughout the different seasons. I love immersing myself in the natural world and when I am not visiting the same place over and over again, I try to discover new places around my area first before traveling further away. There is so much to see close to home, we just haven’t taken the time to look. So, go explore. You will be amazed.
